What kind of wax are your candles made from?

All of of our candles are made with premium-grade Soy Wax derived from soybeans, which is is 100% natural, vegan friendly, non-toxic, renewable and biodegradable.

How long do your candles burn for?

The burn time of a candle depends on a number of variables, such as the type of wax used, size of the candle, wick size, the fragrance, and even how many times the candle is lit/ put out again.

Smaller soy wax candles with smaller wicks will burn for an average of 7-9 hours per 30g of wax. In comparison larger candles with larger wicks will burn through more wax, giving around 5-7 hours per 30g.

Every candle on the website will feature an approximate burn time within their description, so you know exactly what to expect before you place an order.

Do the candles smell like the drink?

Not really, but also kinda' yes (sometimes)!

It would be impossible for us to match each bottle with a different fragrance to match the specific drink - that's A LOT of different fragrances! And let's be honest, it'll be a novelty at first, but do you REALLY want your house to smell like booze all day, every day? Probably not.

Sure, we'll initially try to choose a fragrance in keeping with the flavour of the drink itself, but there's only so many Lemongrass & Ginger scented candles in Lemongrass & Ginger Gins (for instance) we can make before we feel like mixing it up a bit! We've found that you enjoy having a varied selection of fragrances to choose from and often end up falling in love with something you may not have considered before!

What kind of fragrances do you use/ have?

Our carefully curated fragrances will forever be vegan friendly and completely paraben and cruelty free. Each candle is infused with the maximum amount of fragrance possible, so they're always full to the brim and bursting with aroma; perfect for those who require a stronger scent throw to fill the room whether the candle is lit or not.

How do you cut the bottles?

This is potentially the #1 question we get asked when people first see our upcycled bottle candles - and unfortunately it'll have to remain our little secret! Rest assured, however, that hundreds of hours have been spent perfecting our refined technique and ensuring a superbly smooth and level finish.

I have a special bottle - can you make it into a candle or lamp?

Yes. Absolutely. In fact, upcycling our own sentimental bottles from being glorified dust-collectors into beautiful candles & lamps is where Adhock Homeware was first born!

We can work our magic on pretty much any bottle you may have, although there are a few limitations depending on the size/ shape/ label placement etc.  CLICK HERE to reach out, have a chat, and get the ball rolling!

How long will it take?

We aim to have orders completed within 4 weeks, however sometimes it may take slightly longer.

We're a team of two (one of which works full time elsewhere!), so we do each stage of the upcycling process in large batches to make the process more efficient

If we happen to have just had a candle waxing session, for example, then we will not be able to finish/ refill any more vessels until we've cut, polished and prepared the next batch of bottles for the next cycle.

How much will it cost?

Each bespoke order is unique and therefore the price can vary significantly. In all cases, please shoot us a message via our Contact Us page to outline your ideas and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

ORDERING & DELIVERY

Where do you ship to/ how much is shipping?

We ship to most regions worldwide.

We offer Free Shipping for all UK orders over £9.99. If your order is below this then a flat rate of £3.99 is applied.

International orders shipping costs depend on the destination country. 

In all cases the shipping rates will be calculated during the checkout process, once the delivery address has been entered.

Where is my order confirmation?

An order confirmation is automatically sent to your email address when you place an order. If you haven’t received your order confirmation within 24 hours, please get in touch at hello@adhock.co.uk just in case there’s a problem when placing/ processing your order. Please check your mailbox’s spam or junk folder before contacting in case the order confirmation has been diverted there.

Can I alter my order/ shipping address?

If you realise there has been a mistake with your order, then please refer to our CONTACT US page to let us know as soon as possible.

As long as your order has not been shipped yet we will do everything we can to accomodate any changes, although please be aware this may delay the shipment of you order.

Sadly, and for obvious reasons, once your order has been shipped it is very difficult to change the delivery address and impossible to alter its contents.

We can try to ammend the delivery address whilst it is in transit, but there is no guaruntee that that the couriers' database will update in time for the parcel to be successfully delivered. In which case it may be "returned to sender" by default.

If your order has already shipped but you need to order a greater quantity or an additional product, please place a new order online.

How do I cancel my order?

There is only a short amount of time between when you place your order and when we start processing it. If you contact us straight away after ordering, via hello@adhock.co.uk, we may be able to cancel your order before it’s processed.

If not, we’ll despatch your order and then you can return it to us if you wish upon receiving it.

When will my order arrive?

We typically ship orders out the next working day, so the vast majority of UK orders arrive within 3-5 working days after you place an order.

Shipping to countries outside of the UK may take anything between 1-4 weeks, depending greatly on the destination country, courier services available and time taken to clear customs. Please get in touch if your order hasn’t been delivered according to the expected timescales, and we will check your order status.

With the current COVID-19 situation please be aware that courier companies are experiencing unprecedented pressure and their services are stretched, therefore deliveries during this time may experience slight delays.

RETURNS

Can I return or exchange an item?

A lot of love and effort goes into each of our creations, and we want you to be able to buy in confidence! But, if you're not happy for any reason then please get in contact so we can try to resolve the problem, either via email at hello@adhock.co.uk, or via our Contact Us page.

Long story short, you can absolutely return your item to us, within 30 days after receiving it, as long as it’s undamaged, unused and contained in its original packaging.

My order has arrived but it’s not as I expected. What can I do?

In the rare event that your order arrives damaged or faulty, please take photos of the product in question and contact us via hello@adhock.co.uk or our Contact Us page with the details. We’ll respond as soon as we can to help resolve the problem.

If you just don’t like the product for any reason, we’ll gladly accept it back as a return, providing it arrives back with us in “as new” condition, preferably in the original packaging. Again, please contact us with the details and so we know to expect a return.
