Luxury Handwoven Blue-Grey Chevron Cashmere Blanket

When we started Adhock Homeware, we knew we wanted to focus on creating beautiful, sustainable everyday essentials. But we also knew that as our business grew, we wanted to use it as a vehicle to make a real, positive impact on people’s lives.

That journey recently took us all the way to Nepal. We wanted to source something truly special, but more importantly, we wanted to ensure that whatever we brought back was rooted in deep ethical standards, fair trade, and transparency.

During our travels, we met an incredible social enterprise and its local non-profit NGO partner, whose mission is to bring traditional Nepali craftsmanship to the world. Seeing the sheer level of skill and dedication firsthand changed everything for us - and that is how our new collection of Luxury Handwoven Cashmere Blankets was born.

Meeting the Makers in Western Nepal

The story of these blankets starts high up in the Mustang region of Nepal, where local farmers harvest incredibly soft, authentic Himalayan cashmere. From there, the raw fibres travel to Western Nepal, where they are transformed into beautiful textiles.

What makes these blankets so extraordinary isn't just the premium natural fibres; it’s the hands that weave them. The workshop we partner with provides dignified, fair-trade employment to over 180 artisans, many of whom come from marginalised backgrounds.

We spent time watching the hand-looms in action, operated by incredibly talented artisans who are blind, deaf, or living with disabilities. Beside them are single mothers and individuals who have faced massive life upheavals, all working together in a supportive, empowering environment. By offering a stable income, this partnership gives disabled and underprivileged makers the independence they need to sustain their families and build a much brighter future.

More Than a Fair Wage: Community Growth

As we learned more about the organisation, we realised their impact goes so much deeper than just providing jobs. Over the years, the enterprise has expanded its mission to support trafficked women and communities devastated by natural disasters - helping to rebuild homes and actively supporting local schools.

Through their NGO partnership, every single purchase of a blanket does tangible good on the ground. It helps fund vital healthcare, provides life-skills training, and protects the local ecosystems by supporting sustainable, planet-first farming and manufacturing practices. Each handcrafted piece is a direct testament to the resilience of these communities and the preservation of beautiful, traditional Nepalese weaving techniques.

Bringing a Piece of Heritage Home

Luxury Handwoven Deep Plum & Black Diamond Cashmere Blanket

We personally selected and brought these blankets back because they represent everything we believe in. When you wrap yourself in our blankets, you are feeling the unparalleled warmth of genuine Himalayan cashmere - but you're also connecting with a massive story of human resilience, community growth, and social change.

At a generous 275 x 140cm, they are decadent, oversized, and lightweight, making them the perfect piece to layer over a sofa or bed for cosy evenings.

Like everything we do, they are sent to you in 100% recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable packaging. We are so incredibly proud to share this collection with you, and we hope you love the story behind them as much as we do.
